i had been searching for that for a while - - but now i just use screen recording software to cap any swf video i want -fast and easy

You get good HD video out of that? Not laggy? Also any recommended programs?

EDIT: Trying out CamStudio at the moment, seems to be working rather well indeed. We shall see if the audio syncs up properly once I finish the toon. Thanks for the advice!

Moyea is definitely the best one.

I shall cheggitout. Thanks!

armor swf, convert movie clip effects in hd.

Thanks dawg, heard good things about that one.

y u no
export into .mov?
it helps alot

I've had all sorts of problems with both types of export Flash can do. Maybe it's more due to my computer being shitty, though. Thanks!

this is the one I use
http://www.adshareit.com/
I was going to say "it seems as though it's no longer being developed though" but I just looked at their site and after a few years it seems as though they've updated.

I was also GOING to say that the only problem I've had with this converter is that it doesn't work with the latest Flash player, and that you have to go to the Adobe site and find a legacy copy of version 9, which isn't that difficult but has a couple snags that make it a pain in the ass.
If this is indeed an updated version though, that may be resolved, so I dunno. Anyways I've probably tried a dozen converters and this was my favorite, I use it ALL THE FUCKING TIME

I take it back this new version's not that great. Use the older one if you can find it or.... something else

Thanks for the advice. I've been fiddling with CamStudio and it seems to work extremely well if you download the HD screen cap codec a la this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD iGO0clUY4

I have yet to discover whether the sound will sync up when I put 'em together in a movie editor. We shall see.

Divx Plus allows you to export movies from Flash into .avi formats in great quality without taking up a lot of data space!
And it's free too!

Oh yeah, synching the audio is almost always a complete bitch :/ apparently SWF2video works better for that depending on your audio card. Anyways I always just render the video and synch everything back up in Vegas or Premiere so I dunno.
ALSO I take it back AGAIN, I messed around with that new version some more and found that it actually worked better once I found where everything was moved around to. Then I immediately bought it, heh.... so yeah I dunno but I'll try that screencapping thing with Camtasia just to see how it is, I've actually considered that but never thought to test it out for some reason DERRRPPPPP

Could you tell me the settings you use to get good video quality? I've tried pretty much every combination of settings I can think of, and still can't get a good video out of it. Do you use a particular codec?

EDIT: Thanks for the help, my man.

I would talk to Mike

mike.newgrounds.com

he created a flawless encoder. you still have to take a few more extra steps to compress it but the output is near flawless.

its what tom uses to output all those flash files to video on the roku channel.

Thanks a lot, I'll look into it. I'm having some success using a combination of iMovie and the MOV export option in Flash, but I still have a ways to go. If it doesn't work out I'll try your suggestion.

i can tell you about "any video convertor" but i`m not sure if it includes swf options... although its pretty good i think i should handle it..

irrelevent but where is that profile picture from?

The profile picture is from a movie called "I Saw The Devil". It's one of my favourite films - I highly recommend watching it. The header is from a cartoon I was working on but never finished. I may do so someday, though.
